Avram

The AVRAM Ensemble is an intercultural formation of virtuoso musicians who come from the music genres of classical, jazz and world music and dedicate their interplay to the theme of peace. The name of the ensemble goes back to the grandfather of three world religions Abraham. AVRAM forms musical sound bridges between the cultures.

Avram

Under the artistic direction of the singer Schirin Partowi, the ensemble develops a fascinating music of encounter and fusion of Jewish, Christian and Islamic tradition through to completely new sounds. Eastern and Western, old and new worlds of sound move towards each other in a sensitive way, resulting in an unmistakably new and moving style that unites all the colors that lie between calm meditation and impulsive dance rhythms. The basis of the music are ancient and new texts of mysticism, theology and philosophy of the Orient and the Occident. Traditional and classical songs of cultures with their spiritual as well as secular poetry form the common thread for the imaginative, pulsating music of AVRAM.

Ney trio

MURAT Çakmaz Ney, singing
IVANO ONAVI classical guitar
JAIME MORAGA VASQUEZ Percussion

The band members are from different cultures (Chile, Kazakhstan & Turkey) and together they represent encounters and border crossings between Orient and Occident - between tradition and modernity.

Ney Trio

With an unmistakably individual kind of world music, rousing odd rhythms and passionate jazzy improvisations, but also subtly soft tones and delicate poetry, the virtuosi experience the richness, depth and expressiveness of various exotic and historical music traditions just as directly as freedom, complexity and creativity of the globalized present Music.

Ney Trio

The repertoire of the unusually occupied trio consists of newly arranged, ancient Sufi pieces, which have been played for centuries to accompany the Sema dance, as well as rhythmically complex, jazzy, Indian and oriental inspired original compositions, which are presented with virtuoso joy of playing and improvisation.
